Surrey Bridge Club

The Duplicate light program that Jane Youngberg and her team have developed over the years have given many of us an opportunity to mix with like minded people who want to develop their game of bridge but also to develop a network of others that they can share this wonderful game of bridge with. I can’t say enough about how Bridge has added truly an element to my life that I never thought I would enjoy so much. The organization the effort the lessons that have been developed over the years have given us every opportunity to grow and become master bridge players if someone’s so desires. The directors have been so encouraging and helpful to all of us no matter at what level we were. Have made many friends over the years and would so miss them if our clubs weren’t able to continue in this like manner. Covid has made it very difficult for all of us. Socialization is such a big part of who we are. And Bridge certainly provided that for many of us.

Absolutely recommend coming out and playing. The players are all welcoming and friendly and , while there is competition, I have found it to be courteous and relaxing. The directors are knowledgeable and move things along at just the right pace. And the coffee and treats (cookies, brownies, etc.) are excellent.

I have been playing bridge with the Peace Arch DBC on Tuesdays and Duplicatelite on Wednesdays and Thursday. The groups are great and we have a great time.The game of Bridge is very good to stimulate the mind and wrapped in a wonderful social atmosphere.A DAY WITHOUT BRIDGE WON'T KILL ME.......BUT WHY TAKE A CHANCE."

My partner and I first joined Duplicate Lite 10 years ago with the purpose of improving our bridge game. Little did we know that we would meet such a great group of people and improve the quality of our game all at the same time. I have enjoyed the privilege of going on many girl's road trip to destinations both here in Canada and the USA for bridge tournaments and having a wonderful time, meeting new people and enjoying the game all at the same time. I have often said, I'm not sure if it's the game of bridge that's so good or whether it's the people that I meet that make it so good.""

This is an amazing club! The organizers and directors are outstanding. The players are friendly and receptive to new players (both to bridge and to their club). The venue is great with lots of space and parking, with good tables, bidding boxes, playing cards, convention cards, score cards, and comfortable chairs.They even pre-deal the hands which makes for a faster more pleasant game, and allows the players to get a hardcopy of the hands immediately after the game, complete with double dummy analysis which is always fun (and instructive) to look at.Players at the club have a wide variety of skill levels, varying all the way from beginners to experts. The club has all sorts of programs to help the beginning players improve their game.My only complaint is that it is located over half an hour drive from Bellingham where I live. But going to their game is more than worth the time it takes to drive there.

What a WONDERFUL bridge club this is! My husband and I live in Bellingham, WA and love to come to the games held here. Everyone is extremely welcoming and kind. The games are super organized and always run smoothly. As for the game of bridge, if you are considering taking it up, I highly encourage you to do it. It is the BEST card game there is, and will always give you the opportunity to grow mentally and socially, filling your life with purpose and interest. I am so thankful to the many volunteers that keep this game running for the benefit of all.

New to Vancouver area and looking for a place to play bridge, I discovered the Surrey bridge club playing out of Elgin Hall in South Surrey. A very pleasant surprise - warm and welcoming membership, vintage community hall, lots of free parking, easy access off the freeway and well-organized games. I would recommend this game to all players - novices and experts alike.
